When you've walked on fire...
You can literally do anything.
That's reason 1 of many to take part in a firewalk.
Whether you are just emerging from a period of challenge or change in your life, feeling a bit stuck, fancy doing something totally different with your Sunday afternoon, or would like to add a tool to your self development toolkit, few experiences are so accessible, reliable and connection building than this.

How do you choose a 'safe' firewalk leader?
Because lets face it, if this is the first time you are even considering doing one, how do you know if someone has the skills, qualifications, risk assessments and experience to lead you to confidently and safely walk your bare feet across hot coals (and enjoy it?!)
There are very few 'official' firewalking 'schools' anywhere in the world, luckily we have one in the UK, and Ashley trained with them 10 years ago - leading regular firewalks, retreats, deep yoga and somatic practices ever since. You can read more about Ashley's journey here https://loveisinyou.com/about/
Ellie has been a coach, facilitator, trainer, and spiritual seeker for 30 years, and has participated in over 10 firewalks, even persuading her mum and very sceptical husband to participate with her a year ago.
We've both lead groups spanning corporate management teams, charitable and volunteer organisations, public events, individuals and groups through a huge spectrum of personal development and growth activities.
Our venue is also truly special, having been purpose designed to host events like this and others with spaces that instantly put you at ease.
What happens during a firewalk?
Lets get one thing out there immediately - you do not simply turn up, get presented with hot coals, and told to walk.
Throughout the event, we will spend time exploring the practical, emotional and symbolic ways in which fire can change our lives.
We'll explore and learn about how your mind responds to fear, starting small and overcoming smaller fears to prove to ourselves that we can make choices when faced with fear instead of simply reacting from instinct or reflex.
You’ll be guided to reflect and start to understand and feel what it’s like to choose courage, starting a habit that could truly change your life.
By the end of the evening, when the fire (they you will have helped to create) is ready, you’ll make the decision to walk forward into your next chapter - whether or not that involves physically walking over the fire. If you don't, there will be no drama. You can celebrate and cheer on those who do choose, and will have learned something and achieved something with a group of people who you probably have quite a lot in common with.
Most people arrive with a mixture of excitement and nerves — and plenty of questions. This guide is here to give you clear, grounded answers so you know exactly what to expect.
The walk itself lasts only a few seconds — the real experience is the mindset work that happens before it, the changes that start to happen, and continue happening, long after the event has finished.
Is it safe?
Yes. Firewalking has been practiced for thousands of years, and when facilitated properly, it’s a safe and controlled experience. Before anyone walks, we cover:
How the fire is prepared
How the embers behave
How your body responds
What safety measures are in place
How to walk in a calm, steady way
No one is rushed, pressured, or pushed.
Do I need to be super fit or brave?
Not at all. Most participants describe themselves as “ordinary people looking for something meaningful.” You don’t need:
High fitness levels
A spiritual background
A big personality
A fearless mindset
You just need curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
Who usually attends?
A real mix:
Men and women aged 25–60
People going through life transitions
People wanting a reset or fresh start
People exploring wellbeing in a grounded way
People who enjoy meaningful experiences
People who want to feel more confident or connected
It’s not a “type” of person — it’s a shared intention.
What happens on the night?
We begin indoors with a guided set of activities designed to help you to:
Explore where fear might be holding you back in your life right now
Identify how your mind and body respond - giving you the power of choice over reflex
Choose courage in a grounded way
Reflect on what the firewalk might symbolise for you
Understand and build confidence in how the walk works, step by step
You’ll have time to settle, breathe, and connect with the group. When we move outside, the fire is prepared in front of you. You’ll walk only when you feel ready.
What does the firewalk feel like?
Most people say:
“It was nothing like I expected.”
“The walk was quick — the feeling afterwards was huge.”
“I felt calm, focused, and proud.”
It’s not about pain or endurance. It’s about presence, intention, and choosing courage.
What if I decide not to walk?
That’s completely fine. You’re welcome to stay, observe, and be part of the group. There is no pressure — your experience is yours.
Why do people do firewalks?
Common reasons include:
A desire for renewal
A symbolic fresh start
Letting go of old patterns
Building confidence
Marking a transition
Reconnecting with inner strength
Trying something meaningful and memorable
It’s a grounded way to grow — without the intensity of “transform your life” promises.
What should I wear or bring?
Wear:
Comfortable, warm layers
Shoes you can easily slip on and off
A waterproof if the weather turns
Bring:
A water bottle and a thermal mug if you have one (we will also have cups etc)
An open mind
A willingness to take part at your own pace
Since this event will run from 12 - 7pm, we will offer soup and bread throughout, with vegetarian and Gluten Free options, teas and coffees and biscuits.
Where is it held?
The firewalk takes place in Bedfordshire at an off grid events centre with toilets, running water and a variety of spaces to explore during the event, with easy access from:
Milton Keynes
Northamptonshire
Bedford
Buckinghamshire
Cambridgeshire
Full details are provided upon booking.
How do I book?
You can secure your place via our ticket page. Spaces are limited to keep the experience intimate, supportive, and safe.
Final thoughts
A firewalk isn’t about proving anything. It’s about choosing courage in a grounded, guided way — and giving yourself a moment of renewal that stays with you long after the embers cool.
If you’re ready for a meaningful challenge this November, we’d love to welcome you.
